Ten Seeds Technique
Genuine transformation in the lives of the rural poor is difficult. All too often aid is handed out with no community input, robbing the individuals of their dignity and encouraging a culture of dependency.
Growers First is committed to going beyond merely supply chain improvement and coming alongside coffee farming families to help them define and prioritize their needs. Growers First uses the Ten Seed Technique (TST). TST is a participatory learning tool that enables community members of any literacy level to participate in discussions about their community's needs.
Ten Seeds adds dignity, builds relationships, and it works – making Growers First well-equipped to seek partners to work with communities to meet the needs they have identified such as clean water, child education, and targeted medical care.
